Biography

The Hon. Patrick M. Moriarty is a commissioner for the Snohomish County Superior Court in Washington.

Prior to his appointment, Moriarty was the managing attorney at Moriarty & Associates. He represented clients in personal injury, family law, and criminal law matters. He also handled DUI defense cases and juvenile court proceedings.

Moriarty earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in 1987. He then completed a J.D. at Western New England University School of Law in 1990.

After graduating from law school, Moriarty entered into private practice. He worked as a partner at Moriarty & Zvaleuskas, representing plaintiffs in personal injury litigation and defendants in felony and misdemeanor cases (1990 to 2010). During this time, he also sat as an assistant city attorney for the Office of the Seattle City Attorney (1999 to 2001).

His memberships have included the King County Bar Association, the Snohomish County Bar Association, the Washington Defender Association, the Washington State Association for Justice, and the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.
