Biography

Hon. Norma I. Sanchez-Figueroa is a judge for the Middlesex Judicial District Superior Court in Connecticut. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Dannel Malloy in 2019.

Prior to joining the judiciary, Sanchez-Figueroa was a family support magistrate with the Connecticut Judicial Branch since 2011.

Her legal career also included a sixteen-year stint in solo practice at her own law firm, the Law Office of Norma I. Sanchez-Figueroa (1995 to 2011). She entered into private practice in 1994, and her areas of practice included family, immigration, and real estate law.

Sanchez-Figueroa received a B.A. in sociology at Brandeis University in 1984. She went on to complete a J.D. at Boston College Law School in 1988.

She was admitted to practice in Connecticut (1993) and the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut (1994).

Sanchez-Figueroa previously worked as a litigation paralegal with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (1991 to 1994) and was a law clerk with the Massachusetts Superior Court (1988 to 1990).

At the time of her appointment, she resided in South Windsor, Connecticut.
