Biography

Hon. Nancy W. Salomone is a judge for the 20th Judicial District Court of Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Hickenlooper in 2017, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Maria Berkenkotter (Ret.).

The 20th Judicial District includes Boulder County.

During her judicial tenure, Salomone has held an assignment in the Family Law Divison and previously heard civil and probate dockets.

Prior to her appointment, she was a partner at Malkinson Salomone in Boulder and had managed her own private practice, the Law Office of Nancy W. Salomone. Her practice focused on criminal defense, and she served as a contract attorney for indigent individuals through the Colorado Office of Alternate Defense Counsel.

Before entering private practice, Salomone worked as a deputy state public defender with the Office of the Colorado State Public Defender in Denver (1998 to 2002).

She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Salomone went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Michigan Law School in 1998.
