Judge Nancy J. Franchini: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Nancy J. Franchini is a judge for the 2nd Judicial District Court of New Mexico in Bernalillo County. She was appointed to the bench in 2014.

While on the bench, Franchini has assisted in the development of the 2nd Judicial District Elder Court.

Prior to beginning her judicial career, she spent seventeen years as a New Mexico civil trial attorney in private practice (1997 to 2014).

Franchini received a B.S. in business administration from the University of Colorado in 1994. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1997. Franchini was admitted to practice in New Mexico (1997), the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico (1997), and the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit (1998).

She was president of the District and Metropolitan Court Judges Association and has served on the Board Governing Recording of Judicial Proceedings. Franchini was also appointed by the New Mexico Supreme Court to serve on the Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission.

She has volunteered her time with the Roadrunner Food Bank.

Franchini is registered as a Democrat.
