Judge Mitchell J. Danziger: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Mitchell J. Danziger is a justice of the Bronx County Supreme Court in the 12th Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the seat in 2016.

The 12th Judicial District includes Bronx County. Danziger has held an assignment in the Civil Term of the Supreme Court.

He began his judicial career as a judge for the Housing Court of the City of New York in Bronx County, following his appointment to the bench by Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman in 2004. Danziger was subsequently elected to the Civil Court of the City of New York in the Bronx in 2006.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Long Island University in 1987. Danziger then completed a J.D. at Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, in 1990.

Early in his legal career, he worked as a court attorney for the Hon. Anne E. Targum with the Bronx County Supreme Court (1992 to 2000). Danziger also spent four years as a principal law clerk for the New York State Unified Court System (2000 to 2004).

He is registered as a Democrat.
