The Hon. Michelle D. Schreiber is a judge for the New York City Housing Court in New York County. Schreiber was initially appointed to the bench by Chief Administrative Judge Jonathan Lippman in 1999. She was subsequently re-appointed by Chief Administrative Judge Ann Pfau (2004 and 2009) and Chief Administrative Judge A. Gail Prudenti (2014).
Schreiber earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts. She then completed a J.D. at Yeshiva University, Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law.
She began her legal career with the New York State Unified Court System in 1984. Two years later, she joined the New York State Department of Housing Preservation and Development. She served there for one year before moving to MFY Legal Services. Then, in 1996, she became a law clerk for the New York State Supreme Court. She worked in that capacity until her appointment to the bench.
