Biography

The Hon. Michael W. Feetterer is a circuit judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit Court of Illinois. He was appointed to the bench by the Illinois Supreme Court on May 16, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Joseph P. Condon.

Prior to his appointment, Feetterer was an associate judge for the 22nd Judicial Circuit, a position to which he was named in 2004.

Feetterer earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Loyola University Chicago. He then completed a J.D. at DePaul University College of Law in 1990.

After graduating from law school, Feetterer entered into private practice, working as a partner at Diamond, LeSueur, Roth & Feetterer in McHenry. He held that position for seven years, eventually leaving to open his own independent practice. Feetterer supplemented his practice with service as a municipal prosecutor for Spring Grove, Richmond, and McCullom Lake (1997 to 2004).

His memberships have included the Illinois State Bar Traffic Section Council. He has also been involved with Holly’s Hope for a Cure, a non-profit organization, named after his late wife, that funds research for ovarian cancer treatments.

When not presiding over legal proceedings, Feetterer enjoys watching soccer with his children as well as playing golf and chess. He attends Fellowship of Faith.

He is registered as a Republican.
