After graduating from law school, Mead began his legal career as an attorney at Sipple, Hansen, Emerson & Schumacher in Columbus, Nebraska. He worked in that capacity until 2000, at which time he became a deputy county attorney for the Adams County Attorney’s Office.
Then, in 2003, Mead returned to private practice, working as an attorney with the Lieske Law Firm in Minden. He remained with the firm for two years, eventually leaving to join the Law Office of Richard Alexander in Hastings. Mead spent another two years with that firm before becoming a partner at Whelan, Scherr, Glen & Mead.
