The Hon. Michael J. Cassidy is a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County in California. He was appointed by former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in March 2009, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of Judge H. Warren Siegel.
Cassidy received a B.S. from Western State University before earning a J.D. from Western State University College of Law.
From 1986 to 1988, Cassidy worked as an attorney in his own private practice, specializing in civil law, family law, and criminal law. He spent the next five years working as an attorney with Stewart & Barnett before returning to his private practice in 1993. In 1997 he served as a court referee for the Superior Court of Orange County. Then, in 2000, he became a court commissioner for the Superior Court of Orange County, a position he held until his appointment as a judge for the Superior Court of Orange County.
Cassidy has served as a police officer for ten years, seven of which at the rank of Sergeant.
He is registered as a Republican.
