Biography

The Hon. Michael A. Della Vecchia is a judge for the Allegheny County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Tom Ridge in 2001.


Della Vecchia earned a bachelor’s degree from Dickinson College in 1968. He then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law in 1971.


After graduating from law school, Della Vecchia entered into private practice. He worked as a partner at Evashavik & Della Vecchia (1971 to 1996) as well as of counsel at Rose, Schmidt, Hasley & DiSalle (1996 to 2000) and Brennan, Robins & Daly (2000 to 2001). For much of this time, Della Vecchia also served as the Recorder of Deeds for the Allegheny County Department of Real Estate (1980 to 2001).


His memberships have included the Allegheny County Bar Association, the Allegheny County Bar Foundation, the Pennsylvania Conference of Trial Judges, and the Joint State Government Commission Advisory Committee on Real Estate.
