The Hon. Meghan P. Saleebey is a judge for the 19th Judicial District Court of Colorado. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Jared Polis on September 25, 2019, filling a vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Ryan Kamada.
The 19th Judicial District encompasses Weld County.
Prior to her appointment, Saleebey was a magistrate for the 19th Judicial District, a position to which she was named in 2018. In that capacity, she presided over the juvenile delinquency and truancy dockets.
Saleebey earned a bachelor’s degree in fine arts from Southern Methodist University (1991) and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Kansas. She spent the next few years working as a victim advocate for the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office and a victim’s rights specialist with the Colorado Division of Criminal Justice before completing a J.D. at the University of Denver, Sturm College of Law in 2007.
After graduating from law school, Saleebey began her legal career as a staff attorney at the Colorado Organization of Victim Assistance. She worked in that capacity for one year, eventually leaving to become a deputy district attorney for the Denver District Attorney’s Office. As a deputy district attorney, Saleeby held assignments in the County Court, the District Court, the Drug Court, the Juvenile Unit, and the Family Violence Unit.
Her memberships have included the Early Childhood Council for United Way and the Colorado Human Trafficking Council.
