Biography

Hon. Maureen Price-Boreland is a judge for the New Haven Judicial District Superior Court in Connecticut. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Dannel Malloy in 2018.

During her judicial tenure, Price-Boreland has presided over Family Matters in the New Haven Judicial District.

Prior to joining the bench, she was the Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Community Partners in Action. The organization provides employment, basic needs, reentry, and recovery services and also advocates for criminal justice reform. Price-Boreland came to the position in 1997.

Before that, Price-Boreland spent ten years as deputy director and program manager of the Connecticut Prison Association, which would later become Community Partners in Action.

She has also taught as an adjunct professor at Central Connecticut State University.

Price-Boreland received a B.S. in sociology from Central Connecticut State University. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Connecticut School of Law. She was admitted to practice in Connecticut in 1994.

Her memberships have included the Governor’s Cabinet of Nonprofit Health and Human Services, the Connecticut Sentencing Commission, the Commission on Racial and Ethnic Diversity in the Criminal Justice System, and the Connecticut Juvenile Justice Alliance Steering Committee.

At the time of her appointment, Price-Boreland resided in Durham, Connecticut.
