Biography

The Hon. Marybeth Dingledy is a judge for the Snohomish County Superior Court in Washington. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Christine Gregoire on January 12, 2012, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Ronald L. Castleberry.

Prior to her appointment, Dingledy served as a public defender for the Snohomish County Public Defender Association (1996 to 2012). She sat as the misdemeanor supervisor and the drug court liaison, and she represented clients in misdemeanor, civil commitment, and felony cases. Before that, she was a deputy prosecuting attorney for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (1995).

Dingledy earned a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Middlebury College in 1991. She then completed a J.D. at William & Mary Law School in 1995.

Her memberships have included the Washington Trails Association, the Everett Mountaineers Climbing Committee, the Sierra Club Inner City Outings, and the Board of the Climb to Fight Breast Cancer. She also sits on the Court Operations Committee and the Facilities Committee of the Snohomish County Superior Court.

When not presiding over legal matters, Dingledy enjoys leading backpacking trips and climbing local, national, and international mountains.
