Biography

Hon. Margot B. Halcomb is a judge for the Butler County Court of Common Pleas (Domestic Relations Division) in Ohio. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor John Kasich in March 2013 to fill the vacancy created by the election of the Hon. Sharon Kennedy to the Ohio Supreme Court.

Prior to her appointment, Halcomb was a corporate vice president at First Financial Bank, N.A., a position she had held since 2008.

She received a B.S. from Miami University. Halcomb then completed a J.D. at Capital University Law School.

Her legal career also included serving as a magistrate for the Hamilton County Municipal Court (1996 to 2007) and an attorney at the law firm of Fiehrer, Halcomb & Lane (1993 to 2007). In private practice, she focused on juvenile and family law.

Her memberships have included the Butler County Bar Association, the Ohio Association of Domestic Relations Judges, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the American Judges Association.

From a civic standpoint, Halcomb has been involved with the Hamilton Rotary Club, the YWCA of Hamilton, the Hamilton Jr. Women’s League, and the Greater Miami Valley YMCA.

She and her husband, Todd, have three children.
