The Hon. Lisa R. Washington is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Gavin Newsom on April 28, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Dan T. Oki.
Prior to her appointment, Washington served as a deputy public defender in the Los Angeles County Public Defender’s Office since 1994. Before that, she worked as an associate at the Law Office of Leo James Terrell (1992 to 1993, 1994) as well as Dickson & Associates (1993 to 1994). She has also served as a legal redress coordinator for the NAACP Legal Redress Committee (1992).
Washington earned a J.D. from Loyola Law School.
She is registered as a Democrat.
