Judge Lisa M. Citarella: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Lisa M. Citarella served as a court attorney referee for the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. Citarella was appointed to the position in 2011. She resigned in 2023 and became a deputy chief court attorney for the New York State Unified Court System.

The 9th Judicial District encompasses Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties. Over the course of her judicial career, Citarella held assignments in the Compliance Part and the Guardianship Part in Westchester County.

Citarella earned a B.A. in political science and government from Fairfield University in 1991. She then completed a J.D. at St. John’s University School of Law in 1994. She is licensed to practice in Connecticut (1994, New York (1995), and North Carolina (2007).

Her memberships have included the Yonkers Lawyers Association. She has also taught as an instructor at Pace University, Elisabeth Haub School of Law.
