Biography

Overview

The Hon. Lisa K. Sepe-Wiesenfeld is a judge for the Los Angeles County Superior Court in California[1]. Sepe-Wiesenfeld was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown on July 16, 2015[2].

Her assignments have included unlawful detainer matters in the Stanley Mosk Courthouse[3]. In 2026, she rejected a lawsuit brought by Beverly Hills councilmember John Mirisch challenging the city's voter-approved term-limit measure[4].

Educational background

Sepe-Wiesenfeld earned a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles[2]. At Pepperdine University School of Law, she completed a J.D. in 1985[2]. She was admitted to the State Bar of California (December 1985).

Career history

After her admission to the bar, Sepe-Wiesenfeld began her legal career as a senior associate at Haight, Brown, and Bonesteel (1986 to 1997)[2]. In 1997, she joined Coast National Insurance Company-Bristol West as national managing attorney and remained there until 2008[2]. She then moved to Farmers Insurance Group, where she served in multiple roles from 2008 to 2015[2]. In 2015, she was named a managing attorney for the company[2].

Personal life

Outside the courtroom, Sepe-Wiesenfeld served as a panelist for the Italian American Lawyers Association's 2018 So You Want to Be a Judge? program.

Sepe-Wiesenfeld is registered as a Democrat[5].
