Judge Lee M. Peterson - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Lee M. Peterson is an associate justice for the Norfolk County Probate and Family Court in Massachusetts. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Charlie Baker on December 10, 2015.

Prior to her appointment, Peterson worked as an associate at McCarter & English in Boston since 2005. She specialized in probate and family law, including domestic relations, child custody, guardianship, and estate matters.

Peterson earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Boston College (1994) and a master’s degree in social work from Simmons College (1996). She spent the next several years working as a probation officer and an assistant judicial case manager for the Norfolk County Probate and Family Court. Then, in 2003, she completed a J.D. at Suffolk University Law School.

She was a resident of Dedham at the time of her appointment.
