Judge Lee Ann Breading: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Lee Ann Breading is a judge for the 462nd District Court in Denton County, Texas. Breading was appointed to the bench by Governor Greg Abbott in 2018.

Prior to her appointment, Breading was a sole practitioner in her own private practice, a law firm she opened in 2007. During this time, she specialized in criminal defense matters.

Breading earned a B.A. in political science and speech from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1979. Then, in 1983, she completed a J.D. at Southern Method University, Dedman School of Law.

After graduating from law school, Breading began her legal career as an assistant criminal district attorney in the Dallas County District Attorney's Office in 1983. Eight years later, she transferred to the Denton County District Attorney's Office, rising through the ranks to become a first assistant criminal district attorney in 1995.

Breading has served as Precinct Chair of the Denton County Republican Party of Texas as well as President of the Children's Advocacy Center.

She is registered as a Republican.
