Biography

Hon. Laurie J. Pittman is a judge for the Portage County Court of Common Pleas (General Division) in Ohio. She joined the court in 2005.

Before her tenure there, Pittman had presided as a judge for the Portage County Municipal Court since 1998.

She received both a B.A. and a B.S. from the University of Akron in 1982. Pittman went on to complete a J.D. at Ohio Northern University, Claude W. Pettit College of Law in 1986.

Her memberships have included the Portage County Bar Association (past president), the Ohio Bar Association, the Judicial Advisory Board at N.E.O.C.A.P. (secretary), the Community Corrections Board, and Courthouse Security (chairperson).

Her civic involvement included the Ravenna Boys and Girls Club (past president), C.A.R.E.S. Group, Habitat for Humanity, the Special Olympics, and Ravenna Shop with a Cop.

Pittman was also a former president of the Ravenna Democratic Club and a former member of the Democratic Central Committee.

She is a recipient of the Citizen Recognition Award, the C.A.R.E.S. Award, the Patriotic Employer Award, and the Stanford “Who’s Who Executives, Professionals and Entrepreneurs” Award.

Pittman is a graduate of Ravenna High School.
