Biography

The Hon. Lauren M. Alperstein is a judge for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Alperstein was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022.

The 17th Judicial Circuit serves Broward County. While on the bench, her assignments have included the Family Division, serving as Family Chairperson for the Circuit.

Prior to her judicial role, Alperstein handled family law matters as a partner at Boies Schiller Flexner LLP in Hollywood, a national law firm she joined in 2008.

She received a B.A. in political science and international affairs from The George Washington University. Alperstein then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 2008. She was admitted to practice in Florida (2008).

In 2025, Alperstein received the Tzedek Award from the Broward County Bar Association in observance of Jewish American Heritage Month. She also earned an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell.

She has served as a member of the Legal Needs of Children Committee and the Family Law Rules Committee.
