Biography

Hon. Kristine A. Osterday is a judge for the Elkhart County Superior Court in Indiana. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Eric Holcomb in 2018, filling the vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Evan Roberts (deceased).

Osterday began her judicial career as a magistrate for the Elkhart County Superior Court, a position to which she was appointed in 2016.

Prior to joining the bench, she was an associate at Sanders Pianowski, LLP (2012 to 2016) and a deputy prosecutor with the Elkhart County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office (2004 to 2012).

Osterday received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University South Bend. She went on to complete a J.D. at Valparaiso University School of Law in 2004.

Osterday was selected by the Indiana Supreme Court to serve as a member of the Criminal Law Policy Committee and the Domestic Violence Committee. She also chaired the Community Corrections Advisory Board.

From a civic standpoint, Osterday was involved with the ADE, Inc. Board of Directors, the Habitat for Humanity of Elkhart County Board of Directors, and the Center for Community Justice.

She and her husband, Chuck, have three children.

Osterday is registered as a Republican.
