Judge Khristan K. Strubhar: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Khristan K. Strubhar is a special judge for the Canadian County District Court (District 26) in Oklahoma.

Prior to joining the bench, Strubhar managed her own private practice, Strubhar Law, since 2005. Her areas of practice included adoption, personal bankruptcy, criminal defense family law, guardianship, divorce, personal injury, disability, guardianship, probate, and Guardian ad Litem.

Before that, she was an assistant district attorney for the District Attorney’s Offices in Oklahoma County and Canadian County and was a managing attorney for the Garfield County District Attorney’s Office. During her time as a prosecutor, Strubhar gained courtroom experience and served as the first chair in several felony jury trials.

Her legal career also included a stint in private practice with a law firm in Oklahoma City, where she handled insurance defense, personal injury, and employment law matters.

Strubhar received a B.A. from Southern Nazarene University in 1986. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1989. She was admitted to practice in Oklahoma (1989), the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.

Her memberships have included the Canadian County Bar Association (past president and vice president), the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the American Inn of Courts. Strubhar also sat on the Oklahoma Bar Association’s Children and the Law Committee and Women in Law Committee.

From a civic standpoint, she was a member of the Yukon Chamber of Commerce, taught in the political science department as an adjunct professor, and served as an attorney-advisor for a local high school moot court team.
