Judge Kenneth W. Rudolph: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Kenneth W. Rudolph (deceased) served as a justice on the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. Rudolph was elected to the bench on November 7, 1995. He retired at the conclusion of his term in 2009.

The 9th Judicial District encompasses Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, and Westchester counties. Over the course of his judicial career, Rudolph held assignments as the Presiding Justice of the Commercial Division (2000 to 2009). He also sat as an associate justice for the 2nd Judicial Department of the Appellate Term of the Supreme Court of the State of New York, presiding over cases in the 9th and 10 judicial districts.

Prior to his election, Rudolph was a judge on the New Rochelle City Court, a position to which he was appointed in 1984. Before that, he spent time as an assistant United States attorney as well as a founding member of Rudolph & Altieri.

Rudolph earned a bachelor’s degree from Fordham University. He then completed a J.D. at Fordham University School of Law.

A veteran of the New York Guard Judge Advocate General's Corps, Rudolph and his wife, Patricia, raised six children. When not presiding over legal proceedings, he enjoyed spending time at the Wykagyl Country Club in New Rochelle. He also played golf at Stockbridge Golf Club in the Berkshires of Massachusetts and the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie in Florida.

He passed away on December 26, 2021.
