Biography

The Hon. Kellee C. Westbrook is a judge for the Stanislaus County Superior Court in California. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jerry Brown in 2017. She filled the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. William A. Mayhew (Ret.).

She is a registered Democrat.

Judge Westbrook received her B.A. from San Francisco University. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of California, Davis School of Law in 1999.

Westbrook began her legal career as a research attorney with the Sacramento County Public Defender's Office in 1999. A year later, she worked briefly as a deputy public defender in Napa County before joining the Stanislaus County Public Defender's Office. She worked as a deputy public defender in Stanislaus County from 2000 to 2008.

She then left the public sector to practice as an associate at the law firm of Perry and Associates. She would remain with the firm in that capacity until her appointment to the Superior Court in 2017.

Westbrook also taught as an instructor at Heald College from 2011 to 2013.

While on the bench, Judge Westbrook has presided in the Family Law Department.

Her husband, the Hon. Robert B. Westbrook, is also a judge with the Stanislaus County Superior Court. He was appointed to the bench by then-Governor Brown in 2012.
