Biography

Hon. Katrina M. Griffith is an associate judge for the Harris County CPC Family Court in Texas. She was appointed to the bench in 2014.


Griffith hears Child Protective Services (CPS) cases in Harris County, including handling permanent managing conservatorship child welfare cases in both juvenile and family courts.


Prior to beginning her judicial career, she handled family law matters at her own private practice, the Griffith Law Firm, PLLC, since 2005. The firm focused on children’s rights, family law, STAR family intervention court, and the juvenile drug court, SOAR. Griffith also served as an ad litem to children in CPS custody and handled divorce cases, child custody matters, modifications and enforcements, adoptions, and juvenile law cases.


She was certified as a child welfare law specialist by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2011.


Griffith received an A.A. from Cowley College (1999) and a B.A. in criminal justice (legal studies) from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2002). She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Houston Law Center in 2005. While a law student, Griffith served as a law clerk for the 311th District Court in Harris County (2003 to 2004) and a summer intern at Waters & Kraus, LLP (2004 to 2005).


She was vice president of the Board of Directors of the Texas Storm Track Club and PACE Youth. Griffith also spent time as an assistant mock trial coach at the University of Houston Law Center.
