Biography

The Hon. Kathleen A. Forsyth (Ret.) served as a judge for the 16th Judicial Circuit Court of Missouri. Forsyth was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bob Holden on June 19, 2003, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. John Borron, Jr. She retired on July 15, 2016.

Prior to her appointment, Forsyth was a probate court commissioner for the 16th Judicial Circuit, a position to which she was named in 1994.

Forsyth earned a bachelor’s degree from Emporia State University. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.

After graduating from law school, Forsyth entered into private practice in Kansas City, spending time at Spencer Fane Britt & Browne, Linde Thomson Fairchild Langworthy Kohn & VanDyke, and Shughart Thomson & Kilroy.

Her memberships have included the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City. She also sat on the Missouri Bar’s Gender and Justice Committee.
