Biography

The Hon. Joshua H. Roberts is a judge for the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench on November 5, 2019.

Prior to his election, Roberts worked as an attorney in private practice, where he specialized in civil litigation, election law, and probate matters. He also served as a law clerk to the Hon. Joseph D. O’Keefe of the Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas as well as the Hon. Timothy J. Savage of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Roberts earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan in 1997. He then completed a J.D. at Temple University, James E. Beasley School of Law, in 2000. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania (2001), New Jersey (2001), and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (2001).

His favorite book is Catch-22 by Joseph Heller, and his favorite television series is Seinfeld.

Roberts is registered as a Democrat.
