Biography

Hon. John T. Luzzo (Ret.) was a judge for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Broward County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Bob Graham in 1985. Luzzo retired in 2017.

He held assignments in the Civil, Family, Juvenile Dependency, and Criminal Divisions. Prior to his appointment, Luzzo presided as a judge on the Broward County Court in the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit since 1981.

He received a B.S. in journalism from the University of Florida in 1968. Luzzo then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1973.

After graduating from law school, he worked as an attorney in private practice.
