Biography

The Hon. John L. Cordani is a judge for the New Britain Judicial District Superior Court in Connecticut. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Dannel Malloy in 2017.

Cordani currently presides over the Tax Court of the New Britain Judicial District.

Prior to his appointment, Cordani was a partner at Carmody, Torrance, Sandak & Hennesey, where he specialized in intellectual property and patent litigation. Before that, he spent time as Vice President of the Legal Division of Platform Specialty Products Corporation in Waterbury and General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of MacDermid.

Cordani earned a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He then completed a J.D. at Quinnipiac University School of Law.

He was a resident of Wolcott, Connecticut, at the time of his appointment.
