Judge John C. Bohdan - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. John C. Bohdan is a magistrate for the Allen County Superior Court in Indiana. He was appointed to the bench in 2018, filling the vacancy created by the appointment of the Hon. David Zent to a judicial position on the Allen County Superior Court.

Bohdan has presided over the Misdemeanor and Traffic Division, hearing misdemeanor cases, infractions, ordinance violations, and other criminal cases.

Prior to beginning his judicial career, he worked as a deputy public defender with the Allen County Public Defender’s Office and in private practice at the Bohdan Law Office. His practice included family, civil, and criminal matters.

Bohdan, who began his legal career as a law clerk with the Allen County Superior Court (1989 to 1990), also served as a judge pro tem.

He received a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Bohdan went on to complete a J.D. at Indiana University Maurer School of Law.

He was admitted to practice in Indiana (1989), the United States District Court for the Northern District of Indiana, the United States District Court for the Southern District of Indiana, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
