Biography

Hon. Jill M. Martinez is a judge for the Bernalillo County Metropolitan Court in New Mexico. She was elected to the bench on November 4, 2014.

Prior to her election, Martinez had worked as a private practice attorney and was a former prosecutor with the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office.

She received a B.S. in criminal science and business from Troy State University in 1999. Martinez went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Idaho College of Law in 2004.

Her memberships have included the American Bar Association and the DWI Bench Book Committee. Martinez also served as an instructor on the 4th Amendment for the Judicial Education Committee.
