Biography

Hon. Jennifer X. Gabbard is a judge for the 13th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida in Hillsborough County. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Scott in 2018, filling the vacancy created by the resignation of the Hon. Ashley Moody.

Gabbard has held assignments in the Civil and Unified Family Court Divisions.

Prior to her appointment, Gabbard was a judge for the Hillsborough County Court, a position to which she was named in 2017. In that capacity, she presided over cases in the Criminal; Probate, Guardianship & Mental Health; Civil; Traffic; Domestic Violence; and Unified Family Court Divisions.

She received a B.A. in political science from the University of Florida in 1994. Gabbard went on to complete a J.D. from the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1997.

After graduating from law school, she worked as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Circuit. During her tenure there, Gabbard served as chief of the County Court Division.
