Biography

Hon. Jennifer Ryan-Touhill is a judge for the Maricopa County Superior Court in Arizona. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Jan Brewer on December 10, 2014.

During her judicial tenure, Ryan-Touhill has held an assignment in the Family Court.

Prior to her appointment, she presided for five years as a judge pro tem (2009 to 2014).

Over the course of her legal career, Ryan-Touhill also worked in both the private and public sectors. She practiced for twelve years as a partner in the Touhill Law Offices (2002 to 2014) and was an assistant attorney general with the Arizona Attorney General’s Office for four years (1998 to 2002). Her private practice included juvenile and family law matters. Ryan-Touhill also gained experience as a court-appointed best interest attorney, guardian ad litem, and parenting coordinator.

She received a B.A. in special education from Arizona State University in 1993. Ryan-Touhill went on to complete a J.D. at Arizona State University, Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law in 1997.

From a civic standpoint, she has served as a board member of the Tri-City Jewish Community Center and the Arizona State University College of Law.

Ryan-Touhill also volunteered her time with the Arizona Veterans Stand Down Coalition, the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law’s Juvenile Clinic, National Adoption Day, the Florence Project, the Sunshine Acres Children's Home, Benchmark Academy, Madison Traditional Academy, and Sunnyslope High School.
