Biography

The Hon. Jared S. Robinson is a judge for the 405th District Court of Texas in Galveston County. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Greg Abbott on February 13, 2019, filling a vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Michelle Slaughter to the Texas Criminal Court of Appeals.

Prior to his appointment, Robinson was a partner at Jones Robinson LLP as well as a staff defense attorney for the Galveston County Veterans Treatment Court. Before that, he served as an assistant district attorney for the Galveston County District Attorney's Office, where he was named Felony Chief Prosecutor.

Robinson earned a B.A. in political science from Louisiana State University in 2001. Then, in 2007, he completed a J.D. at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law.

His memberships have included the American Bar Association and the National Guard Association of the United States. He has also served as president of the Galveston County Bar Association, committee chairman of Ducks Unlimited, and volunteer prosecutor for Galveston County HOPE Drug Court.

Robinson is a veteran of the United States Army, having served with the First Cavalry Division and the Third Infantry Division during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He has also presided as a Command Judge Advocate for the 204th Theater Air Operations Group as well as the Senior Defense Counsel for the Louisiana National Guard. Robinson was deployed to Haiti to support Operation Helping Hands in 2009.
