Judge Jack M. Schemer: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Jack M. Schemer (Ret.) served as a judge for the 4th Judicial Circuit Court of Florida. Schemer was elected to the bench in 1992. He retired at the conclusion of his term in 2023.


The 4th Judicial Circuit encompasses Clay County, Duval County, and Nassau County. Schemer has held assignments in Duval County, presiding over cases in the Probate Division, the Juvenile Division, and the Civil Division.


Schemer earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Florida in 1974. He then completed a J.D. at the University of Florida, Fredric G. Levin College of Law, in 1976.


His memberships have included the 4th Judicial Circuit’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Committee.
