Hon. Gregory H. Chelak is a judge for the Pike County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected to the bench in 2007 and was retained to a second term on November 7, 2017.
During his judicial tenure, he has served as the president judge for Pike County.
Chelak received an A.B. from Albright College in 1985. He went on to earn a J.D. from Pennsylvania State University, Dickinson Law in 1988.
After graduating from law school, Chelak began his legal career as a law clerk for the Hon. John R. Walker (1988 to 1989) before entering into private practice at Tellie, Durkin, Murphy & Piazza (1989 to 1990), though his time there was brief. In 1990, Chelak joined the law firm of Borden & Farley, practicing there for six years until becoming a partner in Beecher & Chelak in 1996. He remained with the firm until his election to the Court of Common Pleas.
His memberships have included the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Pike County Bar Association (past president).
Chelak was born in Ashland, Pennsylvania. He and his wife, Stacey Beecher Chelak, a fellow attorney, have three children. He is a graduate of Marian High School.
Chelak is registered as a Republican.
