The Hon. Grant V. Barrett (Ret.) was a judge for the Calaveras County Superior Court in California. He was elected to the bench in 2014. Barrett resigned from the bench in September 2017.
He graduated with his B.S. in business and finance from California State University, East Bay in 1991. He went on to earn his J.D. from Empire College School of Law in 1995.
Barrett served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1985 to 1993.
Prior to his election to the bench, Barrett had served as a court commissioner with the Calaveras County Superior Court since 2006. Before that, he served as general counsel for the Court and was also an attorney in private practice.
After resigning from the bench, Barrett re-entered private practice, serving as a sole practitioner at his own law firm, where he specialized in privacy, security, and data protection.
In his free time, Barrett enjoys photography, gardening, cooking, and traveling.
