Judge George L. Glonek - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. George L. Glonek is a judge for the Douglas County Circuit Court in Wisconsin. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Scott McCallum in 2002, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Joseph McDonald (deceased).

Prior to his appointment, Glonek was a court commissioner for the Douglas County Circuit Court, a position to which he was named in 1997.

Glonek earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University in 1986. He then completed a J.D. at Marquette University Law School in 1989.

After graduating from law school, Glonek entered into private practice. During this time, he worked as a partner at Michael, Best & Friedrich.

His memberships have included the Douglas County Bar Association. He has also served on the Courthouse Security and Facilities Committee, and he has been involved with the Superior Optimist Club.

Glonek was born and raised in Superior, Wisconsin, where he attended Superior High School. He has four children.
