Judge Frank A. Tantone - Professional Background & Legal Expertise

Biography

The Hon. Frank A. Tantone is a judge for the Suffolk County Family Court in the Tenth Judicial District of New York. He was elected to the bench in 2017.

Tantone earned a bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University in 1982. He then completed a J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 1985.

Prior to his election to the bench, Tantone worked as a partner at Tantone & Gulotta from 2000 to 2016. Before that, he practiced as an associate at the Law Firm of Russo, Garguilo, and Fox. Tantone has also served as a prosecuting attorney for the Village of Islandia, a position he held from 2010 to 2016.

Tantone served on the Suffolk County Planning Commission from 2001 to 2006 and the Islip Town Planning Board from 1996 to 2010. He was also chairman of the Islip Republican Party.

He has been a member of the Suffolk County Bar Association.
