Biography

Hon. Erika M. Tindill is a judge for the Ansonia/Milford Judicial District Superior Court in Connecticut. She was appointed to the bench by former Governor Dannel Malloy in 2014.

During her judicial tenure, Tindill has also held an assignment in the Stamford/Norwalk Judicial District Superior Court.

Prior to joining the judiciary, she was chairman of the Board of Pardons and Paroles for the State of Connecticut, a position to which she was appointed by then-Governor Malloy in 2011. Before that, Tindill was Executive Director of the Connecticut Coalition Against Domestic Violence (2009 to 2011).

Her legal career also includes serving as deputy director of the New Haven Legal Assistance Association, Inc. (1999 to 2009) and an assistant state attorney with the Dade County State Attorney’s Office in Miami, Florida (1994 to 1998). As such, Tindill was chief of litigation.

She has taught as an adjunct instructor at Quinnipiac University.

Tindill received a B.A. in economics and Spanish from Bucknell University. She also studied the European Economic Community and Spanish Constitutional Law in Madrid, Spain, through the College of William and Mary. Tindill went on to complete a J.D. at Albany Law School.

She was nominated a James W. Cooper Fellow by the Connecticut Bar Foundation in 2009.

Tindill was a former co-president of the board of Domestic Violence Services of Greater New Haven and sat on the Board of Directors of the Rape Crisis Center of Milford. She has also served as a member of the board of CThumanities.

At the time of her appointment, Tindill resided in New Haven, Connecticut.
