Biography

The Hon. Eric M. Shepperd is a judge for the Travis County Court at Law No. 2 in Texas. He joined the bench on January 1, 2007.

Shepperd earned a B.A. in business administration from Andrews University in 1982. Then, in 1985, he completed a J.D. at the University of Texas at Austin School of Law. He is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (1991).

After graduating from law school, Shepperd began his legal career as an assistant attorney general in the Law Enforcement Defense Division of the Texas Attorney General's Office. He served in that capacity until 1992, at which time he became Director of Civil Litigation for the Travis County Attorney’s Office.

His memberships have included the Austin Black Lawyers Association, Leadership Austin, Texas Organized Professionals, the Austin Bar Association, the Red Cross of Central Texas, Austin Habitat for Humanity, the Texas Center for the Judiciary, and the Austin Bar Foundation.

He is registered as a Democrat.
