Biography

Hon. Emily S. Mueller (Ret.) was a judge for the Racine County Circuit Court in the Second Judicial District of Wisconsin. She was appointed to the bench in 1992. Mueller retired in 2018.


Prior to her appointment, she had worked as a private practice attorney since 1978.


Mueller received a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1975. She went on to complete a J.D. at the University of Wisconsin Law School in 1978.


Mueller was named Trial Judge of the Year by the Wisconsin chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 2017.


Her late father had presided as a municipal court judge in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. An avid alpine hiker, Mueller hoped to spend more time hiking and traveling following her retirement.
