Biography

The Hon. Edirin O. Okoloko is a judge for the Snohomish County Superior Court in Washington. He was appointed to the bench by Governor Jay Inslee on January 22, 2020, filling a vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Linda C. Krese.

Okoloko was initially appointed to the bench in October 2018. He served until November 2019, when he lost a close retention election.

Prior to his appointment, Okoloko worked for the Snohomish County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. He served as a deputy prosecuting attorney, handling cases involving homicides, sexual assaults, child abuse, elder abuse, and other violent and property-related crimes. Before that, he sat as a law clerk for the Hon. Michael Downes of the Snohomish County Superior Court.

Okoloko earned a bachelor’s degree in law from the University of Benin in Nigeria. He then completed a J.D. at Seattle University School of Law.

His memberships have included the Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, a group which investigates county-wide incidents involving law enforcement use of lethal force.

Okoloko was born and raised in Benin City, Nigeria. His father was a professor of molecular biology.
