Judge Dwain Brackett: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. Dwain Brackett is a judge for the Union County Probate Court in Georgia. He joined the bench in 1997.

After joining the Probate Court, Brackett spent the first four years as Chief Magistrate of the Union County Magistrate Court. He also spent time as the election superintendent until 2001.

Over the course of his professional career, Brackett held positions with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, the Georgia Department of Revenue, and the Georgia Public Service Commission.

He was appointed to serve as District Director for the ten-county region by the district's probate judges and has served as the district representative on the Probate Judge’s Training Council.

Brackett has also sat as a member of the Executive Committee of the Probate Judge’s Council as well as the Traffic Committee and Legislative Committee. His other memberships have included the National College of Probate Judges.

Brackett grew up in Union County and is a graduate of Union County High School.
