Biography

The Hon. David L. Dickinson is a judge for the Forsyth County Superior Court in Georgia. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Sonny Perdue on November 7, 2003, filling a vacancy created by the passing of the Hon. Richard Gault (deceased).

Prior to his appointment, Dickinson was the Chief Judge for the Forsyth County State Court. Before that, he was an assistant state attorney for the Office of the State Attorney for the 19th Judicial Circuit in Florida.

Dickinson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Mercer University. He then completed a J.D. at Western Michigan University, Thomas M. Cooley Law School.

After graduating from law school, Dickinson entered into private practice. He spent time as an associate at Lipscomb, Johnson & Ashway as well as a partner at Hamil & Dickinson and Miles, Reese & McGoff.

His memberships have included the Lawyers Club of Atlanta, the Atlanta Bar Association, and the Council of State Court Judges.

He and his wife, Karol Ann, have one child.
