Judge David D. Hoffman: Professional Background and Legal Expertise

Biography

Hon. David D. Hoffman is a judge for the Seventieth District Court of Michigan in Saginaw County. He was appointed to the bench by former Governor Rick Snyder on December 9, 2016, filling the vacancy created by the retirement of the Hon. Kyle Higgs Tarrant (Ret.).

During his judicial tenure, Hoffman has served as Chief Judge Pro Tem of the Seventieth District Court and also presides over the Saginaw County Veterans Treatment Court.

Prior to his appointment, he spent twenty-nine years in private practice, including managing his own private practice, David D. Hoffman, P.C., and with the law firm of Anagnost & Hall (1988 to 1995).

Hoffman received a B.A. from Michigan State University in 1985. He went on to complete a J.D. at DePaul University College of Law in 1988.

He was admitted to practice in Michigan (1988) and Illinois (1989).

Hoffman attended St. Stephen High School.
