Biography

The Hon. Danielle A. Sherriff is a judge for the Palm Beach County Court in Florida. She was appointed to the bench by Governor Ron DeSantis in 2023, filling the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. John Parnofiello to the 15th Judicial Circuit Court.

Prior to her appointment, Sheriff was a senior litigation attorney for the Palm Beach County School District since 2022. Before that, she was an associate at Lesser, Lesser, Landy & Smith, PLLC (2021 to 2022) and spent thirteen years as an assistant state attorney with the Office of the State Attorney for the 15th Judicial Circuit (2008 to 2021), where she served as Chief of the Traffic Homicide Unit.

Sherriff received a B.S. in criminal justice from Florida International University. She then completed a J.D. at Florida State University College of Law in 2008.

She has served as the Palm Beach County Ethics Commissioner and is a past president of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers and the F. Malcolm Cunningham Sr. Bar Association. She has also been an active member of the The Florida Bar and served as a board member of Scholar Career Coaching and Family Promise, Inc.

Sherriff, who hails from Queens, New York, was a resident of Boynton Beach, Florida, at the time of her appointment. She holds the distinction of being the first Haitian-American judge in Palm Beach County.
