The Hon. Constance M. Alvey is a judge for the 29th Judicial District Court of Kansas. She was elected to the bench on November 4, 2008.
The 29th Judicial District encompasses Wyandotte County. Over the course of her judicial career, Alvey was selected to join the Kansas Supreme Court in its decision drafting of a case on its summary calendar.
Prior to her election, Alvey spent time as a prosecutor in both Kansas and Missouri. Before that, she was a staff attorney with the 29th Judicial District Court Trustee’s Office.
Alvey earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Rockhurst College in 1990. She then completed a J.D. at the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Law in 1993. She is licensed to practice in Missouri (1993) and Kansas (1994).
Raised in Wyandotte County, Alvey began her legal career as a filing clerk in a law office. She was later hired as a file clerk and legal secretary for the 29th Judicial District Court, a position she held until becoming a certified court reporter.
