Biography

The Hon. Christopher E. Krueger is a judge for the Sacramento County Superior Court in California. He was appointed to the bench in 2010 by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. He filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Elena J. Duarte to the Court of Appeal.

Krueger is a registered Democrat.

He received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He went on to earn his J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Krueger worked as a legal research assistant for the San Francisco County Superior Court for one year beginning in 1994.

He would then enter private practice, where he served as an associate at the law firm of Orrick, Herrington, and Sutcliffe for the next five years.

In 2000, Krueger left the private arena to work as a deputy attorney general for the California Department of Justice's Office of the Attorney General. He would hold that position until being promoted to serve as a senior assistant attorney general in 2007. Two years later, the former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to serve as chief deputy legal affairs secretary. He would remain in that capacity until his appointment to the Superior Court a year later.

While on the bench, Judge Krueger has presided over the Civil Law and Motion Department.

He has served as an instructor for the Sacramento County Public Law Library, and also served on the board of trustees.
